Formula & assumptions
Net Profit = Order Revenue − eBay Fees − product, seller shipping, packaging and other seller costs.
- Order Revenue includes item price × quantity plus buyer shipping, handling and other buyer charges, but not sales tax.
- Only selected eBay US categories are supported. Break-even Price reuses the same per-item tier engine used for the displayed fee breakdown.

How is eBay profit calculated?
The calculator subtracts total eBay fees and entered seller costs from seller revenue, which is item price multiplied by quantity plus shipping charged to the buyer.
What eBay fees are included?
It uses the shared eBay engine for Final Value Fee, per-order fee, insertion fee, advertising or Promoted Listings fee and other eBay fees you enter.
What is the difference between eBay fees and seller costs?
eBay fees are marketplace charges. Seller costs are your product, seller-paid shipping, packaging and other per-order expenses.
Does shipping charged to the buyer count as revenue?
Yes. Buyer-paid shipping is included in seller revenue, while seller-paid shipping is entered separately as a cost.
Does sales tax count as seller revenue?
No. Sales tax can affect eBay’s Final Value Fee base, but it is not counted as seller revenue in this calculator.
How is eBay profit margin calculated?
Profit margin is net profit divided by order revenue, expressed as a percentage. It is 0 when order revenue is 0.
How is eBay ROI calculated?
To follow Profivexa’s existing profit-tool convention, ROI is net profit divided by total product cost for the order. It is 0 when product cost is 0.
How is the eBay break-even price calculated?
The calculator uses binary search with the same eBay fee engine to find the item price where order revenue approximately equals eBay fees and seller costs.
Do eBay Store subscribers pay the same fees?
No. eBay Store subscriptions can have different rate schedules and insertion-fee allowances.
Does this include Promoted Listings fees?
Only when you enter an Advertising / Promoted Listings Fee. This tool does not infer advertising attribution or campaign rates automatically.
